Gavin Newsom signing SB 690, which bans private lawsuits challenging the use of online tracking tools under the pen register provision of the California Invasion of Privacy Act. He noted that the bill “won't affect lawsuits filed under CIPA's wiretapping provisions, another fertile source of privacy lawsuits.”
