In an interview with The Chronicle of Higher Education, Joseph W. Ambash discussed the Amherst Compact, a new agreement among labor unions representing faculty and staff at 125 campuses across the Northeast who pledged to work toward shared bargaining goals. He explained the compact's priorities appeared to be "all the things that the unions are bargaining about anyway," noting that while their goals are legitimate, "it is unclear whether the compact would make any real difference during bargaining."
