Fisher Phillips, an international labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to welcome Jamie Spataro as the latest partner to join the firm’s Workplace Safety and Catastrophe Management practice, based in Pittsburgh, PA.
With over two decades of experience in workplace safety and health law, Jamie offers extensive knowledge in OSHA compliance, inspections, accident response, citation defense, and regulatory advocacy. His arrival addresses the growing business need for expanded environmental and transportation safety solutions, both critical priorities for Fisher Phillips’ global client base. Jamie joins on the heels of John Surma, a prominent workplace safety partner who recently joined in Houston.
“Jamie’s arrival reflects our continued commitment to meeting growing client demand for comprehensive workplace safety and environmental risk management solutions,” said Kristin White and Todd Logsdon, Co-Chairs of Fisher Phillips’ Workplace Safety and Catastrophe Management practice. “As our environmental compliance services expand from our established OSHA practice, Jamie brings skills that add immediate value and strengthen our ability to serve clients at scale. His focus on sustainability and infectious disease defense is particularly important as employers navigate an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.”
Previously, Jamie was a Shareholder and Co-Chair of the Occupational Safety and Health Practice Group at an AmLaw 100 firm and spent almost 15 years in a senior in-house role at a global logistics and transportation company managing workplace and transportation safety, infectious disease protocols, hazardous materials, sustainability, and TSA compliance initiatives. His background spans the entire range of workplace safety matters, including DOT transportation and hazmat compliance, environmental risk management, and hands-on OSHA recordkeeping and reporting training. Jamie has also played a leading role advising industry associations on regulatory policy, drafting and submitting comments on OSHA rule changes.
“Since opening our Pittsburgh office in 2019, we’ve seen steady growth, with particularly strong demand from local and regional clients for workplace safety and catastrophe management services,” said Brian Balonick, Regional Managing Partner of the firm’s Pittsburgh office. “Jamie’s addition reflects a strategic investment in strengthening our capabilities in Pittsburgh while enhancing our ability to serve clients nationally and globally, positioning us to meet the evolving needs of employers across the firm’s key industries.”
Jamie received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude with Highest Distinction, from Bethany College.
