In an interview with 89.7 NPR News, Steve Loewengart discusses the changes to Ohio’s concealed carry law that will have an impact on businesses throughout the state. He explained that privately owned businesses will still have the power to prohibit firearms in the workplaces, but he warns that these same businesses cannot limit people from storing guns in their personal vehicles. “[I]f you have an employee who meets the requirements of keeping the gun locked in a special way in the car, that law still applies as an exception to banning firearms totally from the workplace," he said. Steve reminds employers to take a look at their current firearm policies, and, depending on the wording, they might want to update those policies in accordance with the changes that went into effect on June 13, 2022.
