January 2026 marked the six-year anniversary of the landmark California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). The first of its kind in the U.S., the CCPA has since spawned 22 other consumer privacy laws, 13 of which have been effective for more than a year. Now that businesses have had time to evaluate and come into compliance with these longer-tenured laws, state regulatory enforcement agencies in California and elsewhere have begun ramping up their enforcement efforts, targeting businesses that are not yet compliant with increasingly hefty fines. This webinar will explore trends in regulatory enforcement across multiple states and will offer predictions on likely future enforcement areas of interest based on actions to date and guidance from regulators themselves.
