Fisher Phillips has supported me through every stage of my career.
My path at Fisher Phillips has been a long one. I first joined the firm in 2004 after working in-house at Gap Inc. and in private practice representing employers. At the time I was raising young children and needed flexibility while continuing to practice employment law at a high level.
I worked in the firm’s California offices, later continued with FP after my family relocated to the East Coast, and eventually stepped away to care for a parent during a prolonged illness. When the firm launched its Virtual Office, I was able to return in 2024 without relocating again.
The flexibility allows me to be there for both my family and clients.
Today, I practice California employment law while living on the East Coast. I’m able to care for my mother, who has significant physical limitations, attend medical appointments with her, and still attend my daughter’s college basketball games – all while continuing to work on sophisticated litigation for clients.
I appreciated not having extensive travel or business development obligations, which means I can devote the time I need to family while continuing to build my legal career.
I’ve never had to sacrifice the quality of my practice.
I handle litigation and pre-litigation matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims. Recently, I was encouraged to take on a sensitive workplace investigation involving a high-level executive. Although it was a new challenge, I immediately found myself surrounded by attorneys who wanted to help me succeed.
On a Friday afternoon, partners, associates, and staff from the firm’s Workplace Investigations practice group all reached out to offer guidance and support. It reinforced my prior FP experience: I do my best work when talented and dedicated people support me.
