Fisher Phillips Attorney Examines ICE Access with Law360

Does Greyhound have to let Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) officials on their buses? Fisher Phillips attorney David Jones addressed that question with a bylined article in Law360. Specifically, he wrote: “While the Fourth Amendment generally requires probable cause or a warrant for such searches, the Supreme Court has recognized exceptions. Because of the safety concerns and the government’s authority to control the borders, courts have generally given deference to border security over the expectation of privacy in administrative searches of individuals entering the United States, recognizing border searches as an exception to probable cause and warrant requirements.”
