Worker’s Compensation Amid the Coronavirus

Some states are ramping up efforts to protect workers on the front lines of the coronavirus outbreak. Washington, for example, announced the state would take steps to ensure workers’ compensation protections for health care workers and first responders who are at higher risk of exposure as a natural consequence of their jobs. In an interview with SHRM, Bob Robenalt predicted that other states would likely follow Washington’s lead and provide workers compensation in occupations where people have greater risk of exposure to the virus or more contact with infected patients.
