Kansas City Partner Discusses Employer Position on Transgender Protections

Though there is disagreement within the current administration as to whether transgender workers are protected by federal law against discrimination, many businesses have moved past the issue as they already extend the protection. In an article published by Business Insurance, Randy Coffey explains that even if the U.S. Supreme Court rules differently on the issue, employers probably won’t change their policies. He says, “Those that do business on the coasts or do business in multiple jurisdictions, are probably subject to state or local laws that provide protection anyway, so they have to comply with those legal requirements.”
