News

4.20.20

As employers look toward reopening after COVID-19 shutdowns, they are starting to assess business operations while trying to figure out how to bring employees back and ensure a safe workplace. In an interview with the Northern California Record, Travis Vance explains that the CDC guidance will be the best source of information for employers trying to determine if it is safe for employees to return to work. In the interview, Travis adds that outside of the CDC guidance, employers must also consider employee relations and public perception. He notes that “[e]mployers need to keep in mind what the public’s response will be to a company that fails to protect its employees…wanting to avoid bad publicity can make a company more likely to make better decisions and will put it in a better position to avoid a lawsuit or other type of claim.”
