The October 28 article “'Chilling' Tales For Halloween From The NLRB” included quotes from Atlanta Partner Jim Walters. The article noted that the NLRB has recently shot down a number of employer policies that it perceives as unlawfully restricting employees' right to speak to each other or to express their frustrations with their working conditions. Jim offered advice for employers on this issue. “One takeaway from these decisions is not to make the policy too long, because something in there can stand out, and you will get dinged on it.” He added that, “Employers should stick to short, sweet, succinct polices that make a point and have a legitimate business purpose.”
