Payroll Co. Escapes Gas Delivery Drivers' Wage Suit

Aaron Olsen was quoted in the Law360 article “Payroll Co. Escapes Gas Delivery Drivers' Wage Suit.” A California federal judge dismissed Peoplease, a payroll company, from a proposed class action alleging a gas delivery company denied workers overtime, saying the workers did not show the company was their employer under the Fair Labor Standards Act or its state law equivalent. 

Aaron, Peoplease’s attorney, praised the court for recognizing "the difference between the ministerial-type tasks that our client does and what the work-site employer does." He added, "The services our client performs as a [professional employer organization] does not make our client liable for alleged labor code violations of the California labor code and the FLSA."
