Shinichi Nakagawa

During his career in finance, Shinichi worked extensively in New York, New Jersey, Singapore, and Chicago. At the U.S. and Singapore offices of banks and securities firms, he held roles in treasury, business planning, and derivatives trading. His experience includes building consensus among stakeholders from different cultural and business backgrounds and managing complex risks. He also worked closely with legal counsel on contractual matters and gained substantial experience evaluating legal and tax considerations in cross-border transactions and conducting due diligence.

At Fisher Phillips, Shinichi works closely with Nan Sato, Regional Managing Partner of the Tokyo office, to support Japanese companies with cross-border business and workforce challenges. His experience as an active Japanese executive, combined with his understanding of U.S. and Japanese business practices, enables him to bring a practical business perspective to matters involving global workforce strategy, international remote work, and labor, employment, and privacy considerations arising from mergers and acquisitions. He helps clients bridge differences in business practices and expectations between Japan and overseas markets.

Shinichi holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Hiroshima University and a Master of Science in Finance from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).
