Overview
Sean McKaveney is an associate in the firm’s San Diego office. He represents employers in all areas of employment litigation, including wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, and California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) claims.
Sean is a member of the firm’s Sports Team, a group of more than 35 attorneys who were collegiate or professional athletes, and is dedicated to helping advise sports employers. Outside of work Sean is a competitive triathlete, master scuba diver with technical certifications beyond recreational limits, and an avid golfer.
Before joining Fisher Phillips, Sean practiced at a regional firm based in Carlsbad where he gained extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in employment, public entity, personal injury, products liability, and commercial matters.
While attending UCLA School of Law, Sean worked as a law clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, as well as several Southern California civil litigation defense firms. He also volunteered for the Inner City Law Center in Los Angeles, where he provided legal assistance to veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Sean received his B.A. in Government from Claremont McKenna College, where he was also the starting Quarterback and Team Captain of the school’s NCAA football team.
