Overview
Sara Myirski advises and represents businesses in various workplace law matters, with a particular focus on handling disputes involving the movement of employees between competitor firms. This includes advising and litigating with respect to covenants not to compete, non-solicitation, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, as well as addressing issues under the federal Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA), state trade secrets laws, common law fiduciary duty and duty of loyalty, and related claims for unfair competition. Sara litigates these matters not only in Pennsylvania, but in jurisdictions throughout the United States.
In addition to her work on employee transition matters, Sara advises clients on general employment issues, such as wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, and wrongful discharge. Sara can also assist employers with drafting and updating policies and handbooks, FLSA exempt/non-exempt classification, ADA reasonable accommodations, independent contractor status, and restrictive covenant agreements.
Sara serves as Treasurer for the Middle District of Pennsylvania Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and helps facilitate educational and social programs to further the academic and professional advancement of practitioners in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, Sara is active in Central Pennsylvania business and civic communities, including service on the Gala Committee for the Harrisburg Humane Society.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Sara was an associate at a national, full-service law firm in Pennsylvania where she counseled employers and represented companies in employment-related litigation in state and federal courts.
