
Overview
Rani Lauwers is an associate in the firm’s San Francisco office and represents employers in various employment-related matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims in state and federal court. In addition to litigation work, Rani advises employers on compliance with state and federal employment laws, including the California Labor Code, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)/the California Family Rights Act (CFRA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA).
Rani received her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law. While in law school, Rani served as the Editor-in-Chief of the UC Davis Law Review, the Vice Chair of If/When/How: Lawyers for Reproductive Justice, and a member of the King Hall Negotiations Team. She also externed for the Honorable Lauri Damrell in the Complex Civil Department of the Sacramento Superior Court.
