
Overview
Melissa Velez Treasure represents employers in a wide range of workplace disputes, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims, PAGA, and wage and hour class actions. Melissa also counsels employers on day-to-day matters, reconciling risk mitigation and business goals, from hiring, discipline, reasonable accommodations, and leaves of absence to wage and hour compliance, and drafting policy documents and separation agreements.
Before joining Fisher Phillips, Melissa was an associate at a national labor and employment law firm where she focused on defending and advising employers in all areas of employment law.
While in law school, Melissa briefed and argued before the Ninth Circuit as part of the Ninth Circuit Pro Bono Appellate Clinic obtaining a favorable reversal on a First Amendment issue in a prisoners' rights appeal. Melissa was also a lead coordinator for the Judge Stephen E. O’Neil Young Lawyers Mentoring Program.
