Overview
Matthew Mushamel defends employers in a variety of workplace disputes, including discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination before federal and California courts. Matthew routinely litigates wage and hour class actions and PAGA actions as well as advises clients on wage and hour developments, such as calculation of regular and overtime wages, enforcement of arbitration agreements, and worker classification. Additionally, he drafts employee manuals, policies, and severance agreements.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Matthew was an associate at a multidisciplinary Am Law 200 firm where he focused on labor and employment matters involving discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour claims.
During law school, Matthew was a Comments Editor for the San Diego Law Review and an associate board member of the Moot Court. He also was a judicial extern for the Honorable Andrew G. Schopler of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
