Overview

Kris Sacra is an experienced firefighter, paramedic, and law enforcement officer with a diverse public safety background who teaches Fisher Phillips clients how to prepare, react, and respond to potential active shooter and other high threat situations.

Kris has 26 years of experience in a large urban fire and rescue department within the national capital region of Virginia and 23 years of law enforcement experience in the state. He currently serves as a deputy sheriff responsible for the tactical paramedic function within the SWAT team.

As a member of the high-threat response group, Kris was responsible for formulating policies, conducting research, and developing training for first responders and civilians. He has designed various training packages and platforms tailored to meet specific training objectives, including web-based training, lectures, practical skill stations, small and large-group training sessions ranging from one hour to multi-day, single-agency and multi-agency exercises, and training for new members of both the police department and fire and rescue departments, as well as civilians. Kris has developed and conducted numerous large-scale exercises and drills involving local, state, and federal agencies, as well as civilian individuals and businesses.

Kris is an adjunct instructor at Texas State University and the Advance Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) program. He holds certifications to teach Level 1 law enforcement response, first responder medical, active attack integrated response, civilian response active shooter event (CRASE) courses, and civilian response and casualty care (CRCC) courses. Kris has traveled throughout the United States, conducting training sessions for thousands of civilians and public safety professionals.

Kris has also completed the NFPA 3000 active shooter/hostile event response specialist program and an advanced active shooter incident management course.
