Kimberly Carter, a partner in Fisher Phillips’ Woodland Hills and Los Angeles offices, is a trusted advocate and strategic advisor to employers navigating the full range of workplace challenges. With more than two decades of experience, she defends businesses in high-stakes employment litigation and provides practical guidance to help prevent disputes before they escalate.
Kim represents employers – including Fortune 500 companies – in single-plaintiff actions, complex class actions, and PAGA representative matters. She has extensive experience handling claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations. Her litigation practice spans state and federal courts, arbitration, and appearances before agencies such as the EEOC, California Civil Rights Department, Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. Clients value her ability to align legal strategy with their business goals, whether pursuing an early resolution or mounting a vigorous defense.
In addition to litigation, Kim counsels employers across industries – including retail, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, finance, real estate, and education – on policies, investigations, accommodations, leaves, discipline, contracts, and compliance. She regularly conducts multistate wage and hour audits, workplace investigations and prepares executive and workforce agreements covering confidentiality, severance, arbitration, and employment terms.
A frequent speaker and presenter, Kim develops and delivers webinars and programs on emerging employment law trends, training requirements, and best practices.
Kim previously served as Managing Partner of the Los Angeles office of a national law firm, where she led litigation teams and oversaw complex employment matters.
