Overview
Joseph Wheeler is Of Counsel in the firm’s Sacramento office and represents employers in a variety of employment law matters, including wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, harassment, and invasion of privacy. Joe has consistently obtained favorable results for his clients throughout his nearly 25-year legal career. Although he recognizes the value of resolving matters at the earliest possible stage, Joe also understands that trial is sometimes necessary. He has obtained favorable verdicts in jury trials in state and federal courts throughout California. He also has extensive appellate experience in both the Ninth Circuit and the California Court of Appeal.
In addition to litigation, Joe counsels clients to ensure compliance with an ever-changing legal and regulatory landscape and to help them avoid the burden and expense of litigation.
Before joining Fisher Phillips, Joseph was a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice for over a decade, defending the State of California and its agencies in a variety of matters in federal and state courts.
