Jill Novak Dalrymple represents employers across various sectors in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies and in employment litigation in state and federal courts. Her practice encompasses a broad range of employment law matters, including the defense of claims brought under state-specific employment laws, Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA). Jill's employment law practice is complemented by her bankruptcy expertise and background in federal practice as a former federal career judicial law clerk, allowing her to navigate intricate matters involving multiple intersecting laws. She is a trusted advisor to employers in various industries and has represented clients in state and federal courts across the country.
Before joining Fisher Phillips, Jill was counsel for a multinational employment-focused law firm where she managed single-plaintiff employment lawsuits alleging various types of discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation. She also managed both Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and non-ERISA benefits lawsuits alleging wrongful denials of employee benefit claims, including accidental death and dismemberment, disability, and life insurance claims, on behalf of plan sponsors, fiduciaries, and insurers. Prior to that, she was counsel for a national real estate and economic development firm where she represented housing authorities, property managers, and municipalities in Fair Housing Act (FHA) litigation, civil rights disputes, and HUD compliance matters. Before returning to the private sector, Jill served for 12 years as a career law clerk in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of New York. Drawing on her combined private and public sector experience, Jill works closely with employers to understand their organizational objectives, minimize risk and business disruption, and prevent or resolve litigation while remaining ready to aggressively defend lawsuits when required.
