Overview
Irena Leigh brings more than two decades of experience leading in-house legal teams and managing labor and employment litigation for employers nationwide. Irena represents businesses across various industries, including healthcare, aviation, and staffing, against claims involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, and employment contract matters under statutes such as Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Additionally, she guides employers through class actions and administrative proceedings, delivering practical strategies for risk management and compliance while ensuring workplace policies and procedures align with fast-changing federal and state laws.
An experienced General Counsel and business adviser, before joining Fisher Phillips, Irena served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for a national aviation staffing and employee leasing company, where she established enterprise-wide compliance programs, managed employment litigation, and led contract negotiations affecting a diverse, multi-jurisdictional workforce. Irena previously advised RD Legal Funding, LLC – a settlement funding provider and legal services lender, with affiliated fund - regarding class-action matters pending in jurisdictions nationwide.
