Overview

Eryne Walvekar is an attorney in the Seattle office of Fisher Phillips and a member of the firm’s Immigration Practice Group. Her practice focuses on business immigration and compliance. She has extensive experience assisting companies in obtaining employment-based work visas and permanent resident status for employees, as well as resolving complex immigration issues related to inadmissibility findings and waiver requests through USCIS or consular applications.

Eryne advises employers on I-9 compliance, providing guidance on training, internal audits, and workplace enforcement actions. She also represents employers and individuals in immigration-related appeals and federal litigation, including mandamus actions and claims brought by the Department of Justice’s Immigrant and Employee Rights (IER) Section. Eryne works with clients across a wide range of industries and company sizes, ranging from startups to multinational Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Eryne practiced at an Am Law 100 firm, where she advised employers on immigration compliance requirements and complex business immigration matters, including immigration options for entrepreneurs and the impact of corporate restructuring on visa-dependent employees.

Eryne is a member of the Federal Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the ABA-affiliated association for attorneys practicing immigration law. She has presented and authored articles on immigration matters, including consular processing, I-9 compliance and worksite investigations, and advanced PERM issues.

Eryne earned her law degree from the University of Washington School of Law, where she participated in the Immigration Law Clinic and served as Executive Comments Editor for the Washington International Law Journal. During law school, she externed for the Honorable Ricardo S. Martinez, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and interned with the Washington State Bar Association’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel and the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.
