
Overview
Carter is an associate in the firm’s Charlotte office, where he represents employers on various labor and employment law matters, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, as well as compliance with OSHA and state workplace safety regulations.
Carter graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, Carter founded and became the first President of the Lincoln-Douglas Society, which has now expanded to law schools beyond South Carolina and in the Spring of 2025, won the American Bar Association’s E. Smythe Gambrell Professionalism Award. Carter also served as a production editor for the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal, and was a member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court. He earned a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Appellate Advocacy.
