Barry H. Uhrman
Counsel
Overview
With over two decades of experience, Barry H. Uhrman has a rare perspective that encompasses both management and labor union sides of the labor and employment aisle.
Barry defends and advises large companies and public and private sector employers in matters involving employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, collective bargaining, and unfair labor practices under statutes such as Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and the Railway Labor Act. He helps clients through internal investigations, respond to EEOC and DOL charges, and delivers pragmatic counsel on recruiting, hiring, discipline, drug testing, and EEO compliance.
With deep experience spanning federal and state courts, arbitration, and administrative proceedings, Barry has successfully handled cases from single-plaintiff claims to complex labor grievances and contract disputes. He has led arbitration hearings and collective bargaining negotiations, drafted comprehensive employment policies and handbooks, and developed compliance training for organizations ranging from municipal entities to the world’s largest airline pilot union.
Immediately before joining Fisher Phillips, Barry served as Labor Relations Counsel for the largest airline pilot union in the world, where he enforced collective bargaining rights, managed labor relations, led negotiations, and represented pilot executive councils and individual employees in contract and grievance arbitrations under the Railway Labor Act. Prior experience includes in-house roles with major public sector employers and senior positions at national and regional labor and employment law firms — equipping him with the insight to anticipate challenges and deliver solutions tailored to each client’s unique environment.
Barry works remotely and is licensed in Arizona. You may contact him via e-mail or by phone. Please use our Atlanta office address for mailing purposes only.
