Aalia Taufiq is a senior associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office with a practice focused on appellate advocacy, writs, and complex employment litigation. She has experience in both state and federal courts, including the California Courts of Appeal, the Ninth Circuit, and the California Supreme Court.
Aalia is particularly skilled in dispositive motion practice and strategic legal writing, with an emphasis on high-impact briefing that drives results at both the trial and appellate levels. She is valued for her sharp analytical lens and clear, persuasive written advocacy.
Her employment litigation experience spans wage-and-hour class and PAGA actions, contract and benefits disputes, ERISA compliance, internal investigations, and constitutional challenges. She regularly collaborates with trial teams to preserve key issues, guide appellate strategy, and lead critical briefing throughout the litigation lifecycle.
Before joining Fisher Phillips, Aalia represented public entities in complex civil and appellate matters, including contract disputes, regulatory enforcement, public works litigation, and wage-and-hour appeals. She also litigated complex public pension and benefits matters in high-stakes cases that helped shape California law and establish precedent on issues of statewide significance.
Aalia earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where she served as an editor of the Emory Law Journal. She received her B.A., cum laude, in International Affairs and Sociology from Florida State University.
