Though fear of the Coronavirus is sweeping the country, Pennsylvania residents are more likely to catch the common flu, according to the state Department of Health. However, there are precautions that employers should be mindful of says Howard Mavity, partner in Fisher Phillips’ Workplace Safety practice, in an interview with the Lehigh Valley Business Journal. “At this point, the best course of action is to monitor information and educate your employees to reduce unfounded fears about travel, flying, and co-workers,” he added. “The other critical step is to repeatedly, creatively, and aggressively encourage employees, students, and others to take steps to avoid the flu. Perhaps the most important message is to stay home if sick.”
