Workplace Safety Co-Chairs Interview with HR Dive on OSHA's COVID Mandate for Employers

News

11.08.21

HR Dive spoke with Travis Vance and Todd Logsdon, co-chairs of Fisher Phillips' Workplace Safety practice, on how some employers may respond to the federal vaccine mandate release by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). While OSHA will rely heavily on whistleblowers, Travis says some employers may risk taking no action. "If an employer completely ignores this, OSHA is ready to send a message to bad actors,” he said. Todd concurred. "I do think a lot of employers are going to wait, and I think you're really playing roulette doing that," he said, adding that employers may want to be ready to execute on the requirements promptly — otherwise, they may need to pay close attention to any subsequent developments.
