Wage and Hour Partner Provides Tips on Child Labor Compliance as DOL Sees Rising Violations

In an interview with Law360, Susan Boone discusses the rise in child labor violations and how employers can remain compliant. She notes that many adult employees opted not to return to their jobs when the COVID restrictions were lifted, which opened the door for more young people to enter the workforce.

When asked what employers can do to remain compliant, she suggests a separate training orientation for minor employees as another way to help make sure those employees grasp their responsibilities. "Also, training managers and supervisors is always something that is important to make sure they understand what the guardrails are," said Susan.
