Small Business Entrepreneur Expo
Event
10.03.14
The City of Chicago through its Office of the Treasury sponsors an annual city-wide Small Business Expo which attracts over 3000 attendees. Speakers are selected after a detailed application process and committee evaluation. This year, Jessica Huynh Causgrove of Fisher Phillips was selected to conduct a workshop on Employment Law – 911.
Employers can avoid and minimize employment litigation by understanding the fundamental employment laws and applying them from the inception of an individual’s employment. This session will outline the fundamental employment laws that affect small businesses and prospective owners, highlight common mistakes and pitfalls employers make that can result in costly litigation and provide attendees with tools to prevent and respond to employment law “emergencies.”
The Expo will be held on October 3, 2014 at the University of Illinois Chicago.
