Sidney Minter of Fisher Phillips Receives 2017 North Carolina Leaders in the Law Award

Sidney Minter, an attorney with the Charlotte office of the national labor and employment law firm Fisher Phillips, was named among the “2017 Leaders in the Law” by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
“I am very honored to be recognized by my peers for my commitment to the legal profession and to my community at large,” said Minter. “I am proud to be among such an outstanding group of peers with whom I share this recognition. I would like to dedicate this honor to my parents who raised me to always give back to my community.
Minter was among 30 legal professionals licensed and practicing law in the state of North Carolina, who received the honor for going above and beyond in the legal profession and the community. Representing the most influential individuals within North Carolina’s legal community, these honorees were selected by a panel of independent legal professional leaders and peers based on professional and personal accomplishments, and community involvement. Biographical Information: Sidney Minter
In addition to practicing law for the past six years, Minter serves as Co-Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) Ask-a-Lawyer Day. Minter is also the Co-Chair for the Minorities in the Profession’s 2018 Pre-Law Conference. He serves as the President of the Burlington Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and is also a member of the 2017/18 Annual Conference Committee of the National Employment Law Council. Minter is a member of Fisher Phillips’ Diversity & Inclusion Committee. In addition, he is a member of the National Black Lawyers Top 100—an invitation only professional honorary organization composed of exemplary attorneys.
Minter earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He graduated summa cum laude from High Point University with a Masters Degree in Public Administration and graduated cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law with his Juris Doctor.
