SHRM Publishes Denver Partner’s Insight on Paid COVID Leave in Colorado

Publication

4.22.22

In a bylined article published by SHRM, Kristin White explains that all employers in Colorado have been required to provide public health emergency (PHE) leave since January 1, 2021 – and their obligation to do so will continue through the summer due to a recent extension.

Under state law, all Colorado employers must provide PHE leave if there is a federal, state, or local declaration of emergency. And, on April 16, the federal declaration of emergency was extended another 90 days. As a result, the obligation to provide PHE leave in Colorado is still currently in place. In her article, Kristin explains what employers need to know about the extension and what they should be doing to comply with it.
