Darcey warns California employers to expect more class actions as a result of the California Supreme Court’s decision in Troester v. Starbucks. She goes on to discuss the proposed changes from the NLRB and the U.S. Department of Labor on joint employment and overtime rules. Darcey concludes by encouraging employers to prepare for privacy law changes in the near future, with the California Consumer Privacy Act taking effect in 2020.
