Publication

3.25.22

Darcey Groden published a bylined article in Westlaw Today detailing seven steps that businesses should follow to be compliant with forthcoming final California Privacy Rights Act regulations.

She discusses updating and assessing your data inventory, implementing data minimization standards; updating and revising data processing agreements with service providers; drafting privacy policies for employees and job applicants separate from employee handbook; updating online privacy policy and CCPA consumer request processes; and more.

“Bringing a business into compliance with the California Privacy Protection Act of 2018 (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA) is a lengthy and daunting process even for the most diligent of businesses,” she wrote. “Employers and businesses need to start now to make sure that they are ready to be fully compliant by January 1, 2023.”
