OSHA Changes the Recordkeeping World

Howard Mavity presented a webinar on the new OSHA record-keeping requirements for Auto Dealers.

OSHA has fired another shot in its battle to require more work-related injury information from employers and to publicize this data.  Effective January 1, 2015, most employers will now have to report to OSHA single employee hospitalizations, “amputations,” and loss of an eye.  In addition to adding a new range of “what if” questions, this reporting will almost certainly increase occasions for OSHA inspections.  OSHA is also changing the list of low hazard employers who are partially exempt from workplace injury  recordkeeping requirements, with the result that many new classes of employers, such as auto dealers, must now learn how to maintain OSHA 300 logs.  We’ll discuss these new developments as well as other practical recordkeeping issues and OSHA’s future intentions.
