Very few areas create more problems for HR professionals than disability management. Dealing with the interplay of the federal Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, adding into the mix state anti-discrimination statutes and workers’ compensation laws, and then having to deal with paid leave laws (which can be city-specific), has created a situation where even the most seasoned HR professional can become frustrated and overwhelmed. This presentation is designed to provide the audience with strategies on how best to deal with the ever changing, and ever growing area, of disability management. It is not designed as an entry-level presentation on these concepts, but a high-level analysis on how best to deal with the sophisticated issues that the HR field now encounters. It is designed to be interactive.
