New Overtime Rules Likely On the Way

“We see this as another nail in the coffin, but not necessarily the final nail in the coffin,” said Meneghello.“The salary threshold will probably change, but we don’t know yet what it will be.”

Legally, employers could return to their previous overtime policies, but Meneghello advises employers to consider the practical side of a switch to earlier practices.

“From a practical standpoint, I can’t imagine any employer wanting to do that, given the morale issue that would potentially cause,” he said.
