Join us for lunch and a discussion on present-day HR topics and anticipated new employment laws affecting California employers. This complimentary event is a great opportunity to network with other HR professionals and our lawyers in an informal and collaborative setting to get the information you need to stay in the know.
With the 2018 legislative session drawing to a close at the end of August, #MeToo has been the hot topic of discussion. There are over two dozen pending bills in the legislature dealing with sexual harassment – most are imposing more responsibilities and liability on California employers. From personal liability for retaliation and increased training requirements to prohibitions on arbitration and confidential settlement agreements, sexual harassment is dominating the debate in Sacramento.
Beyond #MeToo related legislation, employers can expect expanded lactation accommodation requirements, pay data reporting obligations, and expanded liability for data breaches. During this presentation, Fisher Phillips attorneys Sean Daley and Danielle Krauthamer will discuss what new employment laws are expected to be passed by the California Legislature and signed by the Governor in 2018 and how to arm yourself against future liability. #MeToo is just the tip of the iceberg.
