In an interview with The Washington Post, Cynthia Blevins Doll comments on the ligation that will likely stem from the novel coronavirus. Cynthia, like many other lawyers, predict a flood of lawsuits against employers particularly related to sick leave and family medical leave associated with the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). She explains that the FFCRA created new forms of paid leave that employers were not accustomed to managing, and with the new laws going into effect quickly, she “fears some employers may misread employees’ requests and deny the leave, not realizing they could be violating the law.” She also notes, “I’m one of these that believe that when the courts open back up, there’s going to be an explosion of coronavirus-related litigation, and this is just one piece of it.”
