Louisville Partner Shares Her Insights on Businesses Mandating Vaccines

In a televised interview with Spectrum News in Louisville, Emily Litzinger discusses the topic of employers mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for their businesses. She explains that it is legal and not at all unusual for health care employers to require their employees to get vaccinated. She goes on to add that mandating the vaccine outside of the health care arena often depends on type of the business and what type of message the employer wants to send to its workforce. Emily explains that while all types of employers can legally mandate the vaccine, they need to realize that there are some exceptions for people who have disabilities and/or religious objections. She notes that, in these situations, “the employer needs to be prepared to work with that individual to see if there’s a reasonable accommodation that can be made.”
