Louisville Partner Participates in Podcast Addressing Pandemic’s Impact on Women in the Workforce

News

3.17.21

In a podcast presented by Connected Nation, Emily Litzinger joins the President and CEO of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce to discuss how the pandemic has been particularly hard on women in the workforce. The podcast points out that, due in large part to the challenges of the pandemic, millions of women have left their jobs, setting women’s progress in the labor force back to levels not seen since 1988. Emily expresses concerns about the long-term impact this will have on women and fears that it has “…essentially undone years and years of painstaking progress towards gender equality.” She goes on to provide ideas for how employers can recruit, retain and nurture women to help curb the long-term damage the pandemic has had on gender equality in the workplace.
