In an interview with SHRM, Lonnie Giamela shares his insights on the rapidly changing California wage and hour law landscape and what employers need to know to keep up. Among the many wage and hour laws that employers should watch are meal and rest periods, PAGA, COVID-related sick leave, and pay requirements issued by Cal/OSHA.
Lonnie urges employers to be flexible and adapt to the changes that are pending to these wage and hour laws. He also notes that "companies should review their policies at least twice per year to determine if they need to be updated.”
