Lonnie Giamela, a partner in both the Los Angeles and Irvine offices, was quoted in the February 7 Yahoo Sports article "Let's Make Super Monday A National Holiday." The article reported on the growing opinion that the Monday after Super Bowl Sunday should be a national holiday. Studies have shown that a record number of employees call in sick or show up late the morning after the big game. Lonnie said: "Look at how people are affected the day after Christmas. In studies and discussions with my clients, there's a lack of productivity. The Super Bowl is the same way. Everyone comes in talking about the commercials, about Tom Brady and Eli Manning. And I'm sure the city with the losing team will have a bunch of people whose attitude is not ideal come Monday morning."
