Kansas City Attorney Discusses Looming COVID Vaccine Mandate and Testing Deadlines

News

11.10.21

In an interview with KMBC News, Samantha Monsees offers insight into how employers should approach the looming compliance deadline for the federal vaccine mandate. While it is likely that the new OSHA rules will continue to be challenged in higher courts, Samantha advises that businesses still develop a plan for compliance and implementation. "We're advising our clients to prepare for the worst hope for the best because the compliance is pretty soon. I don't recommend that people sit and wait," Samantha says. Similarly, Samantha told the Kansas City Business Journal, “I don’t think we’re going to have any finality to this until the end of November at the earliest. If it gets blocked permanently, then that’s the end of (the temporary rule). But if it proceeds, companies are going to have very little time between a final ruling on the emergency temporary standard and the Dec. 5th compliance deadline. So you shouldn’t just wait around.”
