Fisher Phillips, one of the country’s preeminent labor and employment law firms representing employers, is pleased to announce that Jason Phillip Brown has rejoined the firm as a Partner in the San Francisco office.
Jason spent a few years earlier on in his legal career as an associate at Fisher Phillips during which he second-chaired and achieved a favorable verdict in a multi-week trial involving misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of non-solicitation agreements. He went on to practice at one of nation’s other big four labor and employment law firms where he counseled and trained employers on various workplace policies and practices, including wage and hour compliance, anti-harassment, diversity and unconscious bias training, pay equity audits, and preventing and responding to workplace threats and violence. From there Jason went to an AmLaw 100 full-service firm where he first and second-chaired single-plaintiff wrongful termination and class/PAGA wage and hour disputes to early resolution or through arbitration. He also focused a large part of his practice on partnering with human resources and in-house counsel stakeholders on wage and hour compliance, commission and bonus plans, arbitration agreements, workplace investigations, leaves of absence decisions, employee discipline, reductions in force, non-disclosures, and restrictive covenants.
Most recently Jason was in-house at a leading video game holding company where he served as employment counsel for the company’s diverse studios and operations globally. In this role, he counseled and advised management on all employment and labor topics with a focus on litigation, risk management, policy creation, training, and implementation of best practices.
Jason now returns to Fisher Phillips where he will represent employers in state and federal courts and counsel them on compliance with a vast array of employment-related laws and regulations. A large part of his practice will focus on representing companies in a variety of workplace disputes ranging from single-party harassment and discrimination claims to large wage and hour class action and California PAGA matters.
“Jason’s years of experience in private practice coupled with his recent in-house role have made him the type of attorney that companies trust to help manage and solve their most complex workplace disputes and challenges,” said Jason Geller, Regional Managing Partner of the firm’s San Francisco office. “We are thrilled to welcome back a well-rounded lawyer of his caliber to bolster our local and national platforms.”
“I am excited to rejoin Fisher Phillips which was such an important part of my early legal career, and I have appreciated being welcomed back with open arms,” said Jason Brown. “Overall, I am really looking forward to making my background and experience part of the breadth and depth of what the San Francisco office has to offer to employers both here in Northern California and throughout the rest of the country.”
Jason earned his J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law where he was a member of the Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law and served on the Board of the Appellate Moot Court.
