Jaklyn Wrigley Elected President of Walter Anderson Museum of Art Board of Trustees

GULFPORT, MS – Feb. 8, 2017 – Jaklyn Wrigley, an attorney with Fisher Phillips, was recently elected as the President of the Board of Trustees for the Walter Anderson Museum of Art . Wrigley also serves on the Collections Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and Governance Committee for the Ocean Springs museum.

Founded in 1991, the Walter Anderson Museum of Art (WAMA) is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the works of Walter Inglis Anderson, a New Orleans, Louisiana native who spent most of his life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. With a profuse legacy of works depicting the plants, animals and people of the Gulf Coast, Anderson has been celebrated by the New York Times as an American master and visionary artist. His works have been displayed across the country at renowned institutions, including the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans.

Wrigley, who previous served as Secretary for WAMA’s Board and the Chair of the Collections Committee, is excited about her new role. “My involvement with WAMA thus far has given me the opportunity to build a relationship with my community through an organization and purpose that I truly care about,” Wrigley said. “I’m honored to take on the role of President and enthusiastic about furthering my connection with WAMA, art, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.”

An Ocean Springs native and graduate of the University of Mississippi, Wrigley is dedicated to serving the business community through her work at Fisher Phillips, a management-side labor and employment law firm. In addition to her work at the firm and with WAMA, she is the Communications Chair for the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar, a member of the Ocean Springs Economic Development Council, and the Secretary for the Harrison County Young Lawyers Association.
