Fisher Phillips proudly sponsored an International Employers Forum Webinar:
Hello and Goodbye:
Global Laws in Hiring and Employment Termination
Tuesday September 30, 2014
4 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time)
Multi-national employers often find that the biggest human resource challenges occur at the beginning and end of employment relationships. The majority of countries outside the U.S. do not have employment at will, and also have numerous employee protections not generally seen in the U.S., such as: required written employment agreements and contract terms; restrictions on the ability of employers to discharge employees; required notice periods and/or severance payments; and procedures employers must follow when disciplining or separating employees.
The presenters discussed employment law and human resource issues for Australia, Ireland, the United Kingdom and many other jurisdictions, to help HR professionals, business managers and in-house attorneys.
The session featured the following speakers:
Joydeep Hor – Managing Principal, People + Culture Strategies, Sydney, Australia, a specialist workplace law firm providing services to Australian and multinational employers, based in Sydney, Australia.
Celia Joseph – Of Counsel in the Philadelphia office of Fisher Phillips; President and Member, Board of Directors, International Employers Forum.
Elizabeth Ryan – Partner in the Employment Law & Benefits Team of Mason Hayes & Curran, based in Dublin, Ireland, the 2014 Chambers Europe Irish Law Firm of the Year.
Samina Weil – Paralegal in the Philadelphia office of Fisher Phillips; UK attorney; and Executive Director, International Employers Forum.
