In an interview with Inside Health Policy, Alexa Hanlon discusses whether vaccine mandates will be extended to health care professionals outside of nursing homes. The question stems from an upcoming mandate that health care staff get COVID-19 vaccinations in order for nursing homes to take part in Medicare or Medicaid. Alexa says she’d be surprised if CMS expanded the mandate to hospitals before seeing the results of a new requirement for hospitals to report staff COVID-19 vaccination rates.
