In the Weeds: How Should Employers Navigate Rapidly Changing Laws and Attitudes Regarding Marijuana

Sacramento Breakfast Briefing

Event

California Restaurant Association
621 Capitol Mall
Suite 2000
Sacramento, CA 95814

8.24.17
9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Please join us on Thursday, August 24 as Fisher Phillips attorney Alexa Greenbaum provides a briefing on California Proposition 64, Marijuana Legalization.

With the passage of Prop. 64, California voters decided to embark on radical changes to state marijuana laws. These changes have left many employers wondering what, if anything, they must do to adapt to the new legal landscape. Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all response to the issue. What may be appropriate for an employer of individuals in safety-sensitive positions may not work for the employer of baristas. Join us for an informative seminar, where Alexa will provide an overview of California's medical and recreational marijuana laws as well as the options that employers have to deal with this new potential workplace challenge.

Attendees will leave with the following knowledge:

  1. Whether or not to allow Mary Jane to come to work,
  2. Best practices for approaching pre-employment drug testing, and
  3. How to respond to a reasonable suspicion that someone is high at work.
